Goodreads Giveaway & Sneak Peek (Yes, autocorrect)
Win a copy of Until the Clock Strikes Midnight and look at my commissioned art!

Pip says: Hey guys! Spooky season may be over, but I’m here all year. I’ll never ghost you.
Happy November. This isn’t the place for it, but whoof, what a time. This year is YIKES. And yet, here I am, promoting my book and trying to…I don’t know, do something bubbly? Something fun? Something distracting? All of the above?
To get personal for a moment (as I’m wont to do in these), I spent a lot of my childhood looking for any joyful escape. I used to call it popcorn time––whenever you’re scared or nervous about the future, where your next meal will come from, affording a winter coat, having hot water, or a roof over your head, you can entertain yourself by imagining something that you’d enjoy with a bag of popcorn. It wasn’t until I read The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams that I learned this is called escapism. To me, popcorn represents good times. Now, for a brief moment, let’s eat a little popcorn.
First thing: there’s a GIVEAWAY happening on Goodreads for Until the Clock Strikes Midnight. Why am I telling you? Oh, thanks for asking. 1, I want you to get a copy. 2, when people enter it, my publisher sees the demand and says, you know what, that Alechia, she’s doing alright––maybe we could buy another book from her in the future. I want that. Frankly, I have a bonkers amount of stories in me that I’m sure readers would like to read. Currently I have two, TWO!!, books on submission with editors right now and like most authors, I’m anxious that nothing I write will sell ever again. It’s silly; I’ve been extremely fortunate enough to sell eight books in my career. But I still believe I could have a few more out in the world that’ll make a difference. That’s why I’m telling you to enter. Tell your friends! Tell your coworkers! Tell your enemies! Here’s the link.
Second thing: I commissioned art for Until the Clock Strikes Midnight by the lovely cover artist, Nia. She delivered and then some. It’s beyond STUNNING, and that’s why I want to share a sneak peek with you all. Also, I’m struggling to keep this to myself. While my plan is to hand these out at events when I’m stateside (more details to come), I know a lot of folks won’t be able to see me…therefore, I’ll send some to select bookstores for preorders. More details to come on that too. At any rate, here’s a preview of my agent-of-misfortune, Calamity:

I wasn’t sure which part of the art to share. But this snippet should get you excited; you can see the love and tenderness in his eyes. He’s exactly as I imagined him, and wait till you get the rest of the picture. Darling is EVERYTHING–– Lucy and Andi make an appearance too. What do you think? I want to hear your thoughts! Feel free to reach out on Instagram or my contact form. I would love that!!
One more final thing. I read this book by Mara Rutherford way back when and I just received my copy! I ADORE A Curious Kind of Magic. It’s cozy fantasy and so magical. If you haven’t checked it out yet, in my opinion, you should! Here’s my goofy butt posing with it.

Alright, that was long. Unless anything interesting comes up, see you next month! Thanks for sticking with me,
Alechia
